About Us

TeaspoonsToOunces.com is a free kitchen measurement converter built for home cooks, bakers, and anyone who’s ever stared at a recipe wondering how many teaspoons are in an ounce — and gotten a different answer from every site they tried.

Why we built this

Most unit converters treat every ingredient the same — they assume everything has the density of water. That’s fine for liquids, but completely wrong for flour, salt, honey, spices, or butter. A teaspoon of table salt weighs nearly 2.7× more than a teaspoon of flour, yet most tools give you the exact same conversion for both.

We built this tool to do it properly. Every calculator on this site uses ingredient-specific density values sourced from food science references, so whether you’re measuring a pinch of cinnamon or a cup of honey, the result is accurate for what you’re actually cooking with.

What you’ll find here

  • A teaspoons to ounces converter that accounts for ingredient density
  • Support for both weight ounces and fluid ounces
  • 25+ ingredients — from water and flour to honey, salt, and spices
  • Bi-directional calculators (convert either way)
  • Accurate conversion tables for quick reference
  • Related tools for grams, millilitres, fluid ounces, cups and tablespoons

Our commitment to accuracy

All density values used in our calculators are based on established food science and culinary measurement references. We use the US legal teaspoon definition (4.92892 mL) and the avoirdupois ounce (28.3495 g) unless otherwise stated. Where a metric teaspoon is relevant (5 mL), we note it clearly.

If you ever spot an error or want to suggest an ingredient we haven’t covered, we’d love to hear from you.
